The long-running Off-Broadway hit features two actors creating the entire population of Tuna in a tour de farce of quick-change artistry, changing costumes and characterizations faster than a jackrabbit runs from a coyote. Two actors, twenty characters, and a barrel of laughs, y’all.

Seating information:

Atlantic Stage is a black box theatre seating 50-70 patrons. The seating is flexible and is often reconfigured for each production. You may contact us at the box office if you have questions about seating for each show.

  • Single Ticket purchases are “general admission” which means you can select any available seat when you arrive at the theatre.
  • Season FlexPass holders enjoy the added benefit of Reserved Seating. See FlexPasses for more information.

Accessibility:

  • Front row seats are on floor level and there are steps up into the other rows. Depending on the configuration there could be 2,3,4 or 5 rows.
  • If you require handicap accessible seating, please contact the box office in advance at 877-287-8587 or via email at kathryn@atlanticstage.com. Our floor level is limited and we want to be sure we can accommodate you comfortably in the space.

Sold Out Events:

In the event of sold out events, we reserve the right to assign all seats in advance. This helps to prevent parties being split up upon arrival when patrons are seating themselves. When assigning seats we do our best to keep parties together and honor accessible seating requests.

South Carolina Jazz Festival October 17-20

Jazz great Dizzy Gillespie proudly shared his Cheraw roots when performing across the world, and now Dizzy’s South Carolina hometown is getting ready to honor their most famous native son with the South Carolina Jazz Festival October 17-20.

Complete with plenty of jazz, the four-day celebration is the perfect opportunity to relax with family and friends. Over 20 jazz performances are scheduled throughout the weekend at the Town Green, Centennial Park, Dizzy Gillespie Homesite Park, Theatre on the Green, and area restaurants. Many of the weekend events are free with Main Event concert tickets ranging from $25 per person for a single evening to $40 per person for Friday and Saturday evenings. Friday evening’s concert will feature the Charlton Singleton Sextet, and Jaimee Paul will be in the spotlight Saturday evening. Tickets are available online and at the Cheraw Community Center, 200 Powe Street.

The festival begins Thursday evening with a free outdoor concert on the Town Green and continues Friday and Saturday with area school jazz performances, early and late jazz restaurant venues, a jazzy breakfast, a 5K run/walk, a scholarship golf tournament, a “Dizzy” exhibit at the Heritage Center, a bebop parade, all-you-can-eat BBQ, children’s art activities, a pastel chalk art competition, a floral umbrella display, a Jazzmin high tea, and more. The weekend concludes Sunday with a picnic at the Gillespie homeplace and an outdoor jazz mass.

The SoundHouse is the work of Tina Smith and James (Jamie) Semmens, an artist specializing in industrial art and design. The design element of the venue has a steam punk feel, with custom floors, bar top and tabletops, as well as art displays,  all designed by Mr. Semmens and executed by both artists. Serving craft ale and wine, as well as soft drinks and coffee for non-drinkers, The SoundHouse is passionate about promoting music and arts culture to all ages.

The SoundHouse prides itself on providing a venue for artists who are creating and producing their own work and aims to bring art culture to a new level, while providing a fun and family-friendly place for audiences to enjoy performance art.

“(We are) acutely aware of the need for artists to have a place to express themselves which is respectful of their work”, says co-owner and songwriter/producer, Tina Smith. “We are extremely excited about our space. Our stage is the center of the universe here.”
