The purpose of this blog is to get people up to speed quickly on knowing what’s happening here and partaking of it with greater understanding and appreciation.
Every year there are roughly 600 fine arts performances on the Grand Strand from Calabash to Georgetown. This includes 100 classical music and jazz concerts, 100 art events, 100 author and poet presentations and 300 performances of 30 plays.
This is the fastest growing metropolitan area in the US and, like so many others, I’m a recent arrival (5 years ago). I came with a love of the fine arts but absolutely no knowledge about what’s going on here. By putting together this website I have learned a lot about who’s who, what’s what, and the history of the organizations.
