Call for Submissions opens June 1
Greenville, SC (May 30, 2019) — On the heels of their tenth birthday, Greenville’s Indie Craft Parade announces exciting changes to position the annual event and its team for further growth and expansion. Set for September 13-15, 2019, Indie Craft Parade will be held at a new and permanent venue, Furman University’s Timmons Arena. This space will grant its 100+ exhibitors more generous booth space while better accommodating Indie Craft’s ever-expanding attendee base, who have contributed to an estimated $900,000 yearly economic impact in the Greenville community. Previously home to the Hill Skills craft fair, Timmons Arena has a legacy of giving artists a platform for sharing their talents.
Call for Submissions for the tenth annual event open June 1 and close June 20, 2019. According to longtime vendors, Indie Craft has a reputation for not only being a profitable venture, but as a staple on the modern craft fair circuit. Last year’s vendor sales numbers indicated a nearly 30% increase year over year (the largest increase since 2012, or year two).
All Southern makers and artisans are encouraged to submit their work in 2D Fine Art (prints and originals), 3D Fine Art (ceramic, glass, wood, metal), Fiber Art (felted, knitted, crocheted, woven), “To Wear” (jewelry, clothing, purses, hair accessories), Paper Goods (stationery, handmade books, paper crafts), and “Everything Else” (toys, pet accessories, home goods, garden). The 2019 jury includes Annie Koelle (artist, Greenville), Allison and Jamie Nadeau (Ink Meets Paper, Charleston), Phil Sanders (Citizen Supply, Atlanta), and Erica Tuomi (Willowvane, Raleigh, NC). In the months preceding the event, Indie Craft Parade’s Lib Ramos, Erin Godbey, and Jen Moreau will settle into a new office in Greenville’s Sans Souci neighborhood. The 1,800-square-foot building provides workspace for the trio, a permanent storefront for their Holiday Pop-Up Shop, and in the future, dedicated space for artists to host small events.
