Specializing in the performance of jazz standards and original compositions exclusively written for four guitars, the South Carolina Guitar Quartet is comprised of music educators from across the state, including Tim Fischer, assistant professor in CCU’s Department of Music, and guest artists Bert Ligon of the University of South Carolina, Monty Craig of Clemson University and Jim Mings, formerly of the University of South Carolina. The group’s repertoire balances notated music alongside fiery improvisations. The group will be supported by Jesse Willis, percussionist and associate professor in CCU’s Department of Music, and Stevie Martinez on bass.
