Acting and Stage Management Classes

We have already had a fantastic response from folks interested in classes!  There are still spaces available in each of the classes.  If you are interested, but still unsure, feel free to email or call.  I am happy to help you find the right fit.   Do something for YOURSELF that you have always wanted to do.  Sign up with a friend that you wanted to spend more time with anyway.  Think of it as going to the gym – for your BRAIN – except more fun!

Acting for the Absolute Beginner

This six week course will focus on accessing the creative imagination and finding the potential of the actor’s instrument by developing a strong, flexible and performance-ready body and voice. Open to adults of all ages with little or no experience, this course is designed to give you the confidence, freedom, and sense of play necessary to venture joyfully and successfully into theatrical performance.

Stocking the Actor’s Toolbox – Intermediate Level

 

This six week course takes a four-pronged approach to a basic acting technique by focusing on The Foundations of Acting, The Character, The Imagination, and The Script. Open to adults of all ages, targeted at those who have some acting experience, but who want more formalized training.  We will begin by accessing the creative imagination then learning how to master a strong and flexible body and voice, break down a script, and create a truthful character.

Scene Study – Advanced Level

 

This six week course focuses on textual analysis and character development in preparation for the performance of scenes from contemporary dramatic literature. Open to adults of all ages with a firm grasp on the basics, this course will hone your analytical skills and their application to performance.

Stage Management

 

This six week course will teach you the basics of being the unseen (and often unsung) hero behind the scenes who makes the show run like clockwork – the Stage Manager. Open to adults of all ages with varying levels of experience, this course will cover the ins and outs of rehearsal management, rehearsal and performance reporting, and calling and operating a show in performance, and may include practical application of acquired skills in conjunction with performances by the Scene Study class.
